Preparing For Your Permanent Makeup Procedures

Microblading Eyebrows Pre-Care:
  1. No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before procedure (Yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea!).
  2. Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure.
  3. Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure.
  4. Avoid power shakes and power greens, Fish Oil, and "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements 24 hours prior to procedure.
  5. Discontinue Glycolics, Chemical Peels and Retin-A 4 weeks prior.
  6. Refrain from use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after your procedure.
  7. Check your moisturizer, face wash BB or CC creams and makeup primers for anything that says acid.
  8. No brow waxing or tinting one week before.
  9. You have to be off any kind of Accutane for 1 year. NO Exceptions!
  10. No Latisse on brows -Lash hair growing serum (Discontinue for min of 3 weeks.
  • IF YOU GET FILLERS, THEY SHOULD BE DONE 6 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED PROCEDURE OR DONE 6 WEEKS AFTER THE PROCEDURE.
  • IF YOU USE BOTOX, IT SHOULD BE PERFORMED EITHER 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED PROCEDURE OR 2 WEEKS AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE.
Contraindications: ​ You are not a candidate for micropigmentation if any of the following apply to you:
  • Pregnancy
  • Nursing
  • Diabetes Type 1
  • Lupus
  • Hepatitis B/C
  • AIDS
  • ​Active:​ Skin Disorders: Cold Sores, Shingles, Impetigo, Psoriasis, Pink Eye, Sun Burn, Severe Acne
  • Active Vitiligo
  • Severe Rosacea
  • Blood Disorders: Sickle Cell, Hemophilia
  • Mental Disorder
  • Accutane (must be off for 6 months)
  • Steroids (must be off for 6 months)
Restrictions:
  1. Retinol/Retin-A must be discontinued 7 days prior to procedure. (It will cause the skin to bleed).
  2.  Injections (Botox, Radiesse, JuveDerm, Voluma, etc.) must be done 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after procedure.  Chemical peels and laser treatments may not be done within 60 days before or after procedure.
  3. The use of Latisse® must be discontinued at least 3 months prior to your eyeliner procedure (it creates an inflammatory response, causes excess bleeding and prohibits the eyeliner from healing well)
  4.  Sunburned or Suntanned skin is damaged skin and therefore will cause excessive bleeding. We CANNOT work on sunburned or suntanned skin.
  5. You cannot expose the area to the sun for 30 days before or after procedure.
  6. Do not schedule this procedure within one week prior to a water vacation.

  1. Very Important: If you get cold sores or have ever had one in the past, you will need an antiviral prescription from your doctor before a lip procedure. Physicians usually instruct to take it 2 days before. As this procedure will bring out the virus if not medicated beforehand.
  2. Inform your technician about any lip surgery you may have had (e.g. lip filler treatment).
  3. Following the Lip blush treatment your lips will be swollen for a few days. Try to avoid social planning as you may not look your best until swelling reduces.
